History of the Evezős Sörkert - a retro community experience reimagined

From Evezős Sörkert history has been written on the banks of Rome for more than four decades. Anyone who has ever stopped here for a pint of beer or a hake knows that this is not just a place to eat, it is an atmosphere, a community space where summer is always present. It started in 1983 with a beer stall. Today it is the company's port.

Lajos Pléh's legacy - when it all started with the hedge

The story begins with a man and a meal: Lajos Pléh's hake has now become a concept in Rome. It started out as a public stall where the fish was always freshly fried, the fizz and beer always cold, and the customers always had a kind word to say.

This was the basis from which, in the heart of Budapest, on the banks of the Danube, a retro beer garden where every summer is a new start and old memories always come flooding back.

The Eventrend era - from value to experience, from tradition to vision

In 2017, Evezős entered a new era: the Eventrend Group took over the operation. But they didn't start afresh, they continued the noble legacy of the past.

Why are we renewing?

Because the world is changing, and so are our guests. But the spirit of the Rome Coast is eternal: tranquillity, freedom, company. That's what the new Evezős is all about:

It's a place that's just as fun to sit in today as it was in the past - and a place where people who weren't even born when it opened feel at home.
